A Good Faith Exam — often shortened to GFE — is a short medical evaluation performed by a licensed provider before you receive any medical aesthetic or regenerative treatment. In Arizona, it is a legal requirement, not an upsell. Exosome hair therapy, microneedling, PRF, and peptide therapy are all medical treatments, so every new EXO HAIR MD patient completes a GFE before their first session.
Think of it as the safety step that makes personalized care possible. Your provider reviews your health history, medications, allergies, and hair loss history, examines your scalp, and confirms that the treatment you are interested in is appropriate and safe for you. Only then can a treatment plan be prescribed.
Why Arizona Requires a GFE
Medical aesthetic treatments must be ordered by a licensed medical professional who has personally evaluated the patient. The Good Faith Exam is how that evaluation is documented. It protects you by making sure nobody is treated without a provider first confirming they are a safe candidate, and it keeps our clinic operating fully within Arizona's medical practice standards.
What Happens During Your Exam

How Long Does It Take?
Most Good Faith Exams take about 15 minutes and are completed as part of your consultation. There is no separate charge — the GFE is included. Once it is on file, you will not need to repeat it at every visit; your provider updates it periodically or whenever your health status changes.
Can I Do It Virtually?
Yes. If you live outside the Scottsdale and greater Phoenix area, or you simply prefer to start from home, your Good Faith Exam can be completed by secure telehealth.
